(E) More information from the owner (and dealer) Noel Reid:
This car was recently inspected by a certified NCRS National Corvette Restores Certified Master Level Judge rate at 10.8. He inspected this car for over 2 hours and authenticated this car to have its all original numbers matching motor VIN tag and trim tag. Motor block 390HP number is TO830LM 19S700846. Intake manifold number is GM3947801, Chevrolet trim tag B06, trim 420, Paint 983.
This model Corvette was controversial when it first came out because of the drastic restyling from the previous style (1963 to 1968). While the press reviews were mixed, the public voted with their wallets and bought 28,566 in one year. Of that total, over 15,00 had the big block 427 ci (6.9 liters) engine which demonstrates the buyers were hungry for performance. The 427, L36, with 390 HP, was the car to be driven at that time.
Car was owned my man in Connecticut who kept the car in storage for a great number of years. A recent trip of over 50 miles revealed the car drives well.
